ABOUT ME
Katelyn Erbacher, LCPC
Hi! I’m Kate. I am a person who loves tea, and I mean has an entire cabinet dedicated to it kind of love. I’m a habit hopper so I jump from knitting, to running, to cooking, to gardening, to sewing, to rock climbing, to writing, etc. and back before I’ve finished a project most of the time. I’ve been playing D&D since I was 10, and I am always willing to try a new tabletop. The most used function on my smartwatch is finding my phone, approximately 5 times a day.
I struggled with my own inattention, procrastination, forgetfulness, fidgeting, interrupting, too loud, and inconsistent behaviors for 27 years before I was diagnosed with ADHD for the first time. It took me another couple years to get comfortable with the idea of going to my own therapy to help manage it. I learned pretty quickly that not all therapists, including myself at the time, were trained in what it was really like to have ADHD as an adult. The more I learned in process of trying to manage my own symptoms the more I wanted to help others who were struggling with the same things.
I work with people who struggle to find consistent habits and systems that they can actually maintain. They are frustrated by feeling like they’ll never keep up with all their responsibilities. I don’t have all the answers and my symptoms are likely different from yours, but I do know the value of having someone listen and understand without judgement when you tell them you haven’t washed the dishes in over a week.
If you love a planner, but can’t keep up with filling it out, you’re my people.
